This agenda was developed for one customized 2 hour Library Board Retreat. Outcomes specified were:
Library Boad Member Bonding
Gain committment towards obtaining funding for an ADA compliant building with a new addition
Clarify responsibilities of Board and Library Director in each persons mind.
1st Hour- Evaluate
Status of most recent Long Range Plan & Building Program elements-
What do the Trustees need to do that they haven’t done towards the plan?
What do Trustees need to take on as an effort that was not in the plan?
What skills do trustees have or need to do what needs to be done?
What group skills should each trustee have?
How can we get the skills to be able to do what needs to be done?
Take a library building tour assuming a handicapped identitiy as the lens through which to view the building.
Identify the learning that took place on the tour.
What are library director’s responsibilities?
What are trustee responsibilities? Elected Officials responsibilities?
